I quit smoking a few days ago. What’s your best tips for quitting?

I have nicotine gum, but I’m interested about your ideas. Do you have any secrets that stopped you smoking?

Actually I have heard that having something in the place of a cigarette helps. Try chewing on a toothpick when you feel the urge to smoke. Chewing gum helps too. I hope this works for you. Good luck.

according to my boyfriend the only thing is time love. he was a ball of nerves for like 3 weeks then all the sudden was okay. breaking a habit usually takes 2 or so weeks to get over so best of luck to you..keep up with the nic gum and hang in there.:)

I used to smoke all the time.On getting up.@ teabreaks.right after mealtimes.socialising.I started at about 18.I am now 58.I quit smoking in my forties when i had an appointment to have a tooth extracted using anasthetic.I was told to have my last cigarrete at a certain time.I kept thinking ‘my last cigaret is at 2 oclock’.From that day on i never smoked again.
As time goes by you will soon see the disgusting side of a cigaret and what a dirty habit it is enhaling smoke deliberately in to your lungs. Its a hard habit to stop but the health benefits are enormous.Ask yourself why you would want to light up another cigaret and replace it with something else more positive.Dont get hooked on the gum either,it cant be a healthy option.

Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If you really want to quit you must discover the reasons why you smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes. As soon as I dealt with my psychological reasons for smoking I quit, first time and more importantly for good.

Once you deal with the psychological side of smoking it makes the quitting process easy, no matter your level of addiction.

Quitting smoking does not require any patches, gums, herbs or anything like that. These methods are expensive, time consuming and simply do not work. All that is required is a bit of motivation, self belief and determination.
